No, it’s not a blog about yoghurt 😊 It’s a blog about working in the office and how our clients nurture their people, which in turn gives them a strong identity. It’s about culture.
When we are chosen as a preferred supplier, we are invited into the very essence of what makes a company who they are. A team of GDC foodies go to work every day in their building. We, as a support team, have a myriad of deliverables. Training, HR, food safety, health and safety, COVID training – new, food waste, customer service, marketing, diversity, systems and accounting, menu writing, coffee, the list goes on. That’s just the tip of the iceberg for us. For us, it’s about getting in to the very heart and soul of our customers and building relationships with our clients.
People choose to work for a company for a reason, we work in a diverse range of industries, law, tech, FMCG, publishing, media, finance to name a few. Each of these clients has a different way of operating and so we like to get to know our clients and what makes them tick. Our foodies are responsible for the customers and understanding what makes them tick. They’re the ones who understand what works and what doesn’t work.
The next level to that is understanding how we can facilitate an easier life for our clients. Are we doing what we said we’d do? Are the team performing when we’re not there? Is the food offering appropriate? Are we delivering the level of sales we said we would? Are the KPIs appropriate? Each month we talk to our clients, but it’s more than that. We talk more often about how the food forms part of the office culture, about how people convene around food, it’s a social thing. A vibrant food offer can be the life and soul of any business and this is what makes a company culture. It’s the understanding that people need to be inspired at lunch time. It’s not just food, it’s sometimes the hardest choice of the day – what to have for lunch?
We are a team of people who spend our lives going from meal to meal, once we’ve had breakfast, we’re thinking about what’s for lunch. Our customers are the same. When they have a team of people who are living out ‘the best people, serving the best food and having the most fun’ we become an intrinsic part of a company culture. We bolster it, we live our client’s cultures as well. That is why we’re all about people, food and fun!
