We have been talking to a number of new clients about what returning to offices will look like and when this is likely to happen. What’s most encouraging is that companies understand that the office needs to be an enticing place to return. Communal, recreation spaces need to be enhanced to draw people back in to the office after a long time working from home or, living at work depending on how people have found the last year.
At the Genuine Dining Co. we are really excited about these changes. Having been pushing ourselves outside the box for the last 10 years looking at how we can use technology and our production kitchen (8 years of experience) to enhance the communal nature of workplace eating and drinking are we wrong to feel excited about the changes?
One of the things that we are slightly confused about is clients that are looking at offering a less comprehensive service than they did in the past. When I say comprehensive I don’t mean space. I think all clients are looking to free up space for extra smart working and networking space. I mean the offer. Whilst I think offer change is important to entice people back I worry that cutting back a service to a fraction of what was had before is not going to help encourage people to use the office in line with an organisations new way of working. I think a trip to the office should be an occasion and something to look forward to.
Collaboration, training, and culture must be in discussion in most board rooms across the country and we are excited about helping solve these problems.
What do you think will help you when you go back to the office?
